The role


We have several vacancies at varying levels to be part of the Managed Services Team, where we treat the client’s business as if it were our own. We are looking for individuals to assist with the operation, maintenance and evolution of data and analytical solutions. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and have the professionalism to communicate with a variety of teams and users. 

There will be regular contact with clients, so applicants must be comfortable discussing technical concepts in clear and concise language. The ideal candidate will be in a similar role or have relative experience from a previous role, during which they would have gained experience in problem-solving, managing client expectations and SLA’s. They must have good communication skills, the ability to work to tight time scales and under pressure.

The role operates as a key member of our Managed Services team ensuring that our customer's enterprise-level applications in the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics arena are operating without incident and are evolving in line with changing business need.

This is a customer-facing position. You will be working with our customers daily. You can expect to be mainly remotely located at one of our offices and occasionally working alongside our customers at their offices, so there will be some occasional travel.

Our UK offices are in Farnham and London, and the role can be based at either of the UK locations. You’ll be working, collaborating and socialising with your colleagues across all our offices.

There will be a need to occasionally work outside of the normal office hours, but this can be remotely (from your home) and of course, this time will be recognised and rewarded.

What will I be doing?

As a Managed Services Engineer you will be expected to do the following;

  • Perform investigations and triage on new issues
    • Gather more information if required
  • Perform fixes for known and new issues.
  • Escalate issues if required.
  • Communicate with customers regarding their issues including the following:
    • Providing updates on the status of their issues in line with their SLA’s
    • Liaising between the customer and colleagues on escalated issues
  • Identify improvements that can be made
  • Implement changes to the customers’ solutions
  • Support the defining and implementation of standard patterns across everything we do
  • Keep up to date with the technology we are deploying and managing

  • Problem-solving

  • Ability and attitude towards investigating and sharing new technologies

  • Able to help others develop
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Exposure or an interest in some of the following technologies (but not limited to):
    • Microsoft SQL Server, Integration Services, Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL DW, Power BI etc.
